Ilya is 7 years old. He was born in a large family with many children (7 boys and 2 girls) in a small village in the north-west of Ukraine. Mother takes care of a newborn brother who is 1 month old and a sick 5-year-old brother. Dad works as a fireman at the school. The average monthly income of the family is 250 dollars, including state social assistance to a low-income family. These funds are catastrophically insufficient for nine children. The family is in difficult life circumstances. They live in an old hut that needs to be repaired. Ilya studies in the first grade. Ilya is a very active, open, sociable child. He dreams of becoming a builder and rebuilding Ukraine with his brothers. Ilya helps with the household, they have a small patch of land where they grow fruit and vegetables. Ilya needs warm winter clothes and good quality food.
