Maria lives in the frontline zone in the city of Mykolaivka, Donetsk region. The girl’s father lost his job as a result of the war in Ukraine. The family income is less than $300. He studies remotely in the 9th grade of school No. 2, which was damaged due to military operations in Ukraine. The roof and windows of the school were damaged. Before the war, the girl attended an art school. Today, Maria distracts herself from the explosions by knitting scarves, toys, and even blankets from threads, and she draws. Maria is even forced to study from the basement because there is a great danger of shelling.
