Myroslav was born just 50 km from an active battlefield of the war. At the time of birth there were active air raids, the delivery took place in the basement of the maternity hospital. Myroslav lives in a rural house with his grandmother, father, mother and sister. His father does not work, he is unemployed because of the war. The mother receives a payment of $22 per month for child care. The family survives due to grandmother’s meager pension and mother’s $22 allowance. Myroslav is often irritable and he cries a lot, especially when there is a power cut in the evening. Toys and goodies are not bought because they are expensive for the family today. The boy is active, interested in the world around him. The family needs money for food, clothes and toys.
