Mother Mariya shares: I am a mother of four children, raising them alone while on maternity leave. Because of the Russian invasion of Ukraine, our family was forced to flee our home in Velykyi Burluk and move to Kharkiv. Unfortunately, we lost our home and the children’s father, who tragically died after stepping on a mine.
My younger children were born during the war in Kharkiv. In 2022, I gave birth to a boy prematurely, and he spent two weeks in intensive care. The constant shelling and displacement caused severe stress for our family. We are struggling without stable housing or support, but I continue to do everything possible for my children’s future.
