Terms and Conditions

    2. Terms and Conditions

Effective Date: January 28, 2026

Welcome to Compassion Is Life (“we,” “us,” “our”). We are a 501(c)(3) registered charity (U.S. EIN: 92-0355788) providing humanitarian aid to children and families in Ukraine. By using our services or making a donation, you agree to the following Terms and Conditions:

1. Organization Details

Compassion Is Life
PO Box 837
Verdi, NV 89439, U.S.A.
Email: info@helpchildreninukraine.org

2. Nature of Donations

All contributions made through our platform are considered charitable donations to support humanitarian efforts. Donations are not payments for goods or services, and donors do not receive a physical or digital product in return.

3. Non-Refundable Policy

Donations are generally final and non-refundable.
Once a donation is successfully processed, it will not be refunded, returned, or exchanged, including but not limited to cases involving changes of mind, disputes initiated through financial institutions, or dissatisfaction with updates or communication.
Compassion Is Life reserves the sole discretion to consider refunds only in exceptional cases, such as demonstrable technical or processing errors. For additional details, please review our Refund and Return Policy.

4. Allocation of Donations

We strive to apply your donation to the specific child or family you intended to support. However, due to the ongoing conflict in Ukraine, situations may arise where we cannot maintain continuous communication with families. These challenges include:
Limited or disrupted internet or mobile connectivity
Frequent relocations due to bombings or military action
Ongoing threats to family safety and stability
In such cases, to prevent delays in providing vital aid, we reserve the right to redirect donations to another child or family in urgent need.
When communication is re-established with the originally selected child or family, we prioritize sending further support to them, depending on available resources at that time.
Donations support Compassion Is Life’s humanitarian mission. While we strive to honor donor preferences regarding specific children or families, donations do not create a fiduciary duty, agency relationship, or reporting obligation to the donor. Compassion Is Life is not acting as an escrow service or intermediary holding funds for the donor’s direction.
Compassion Is Life reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to allocate, reallocate, or redirect donations to beneficiaries or humanitarian programs when necessary to ensure timely and effective assistance. Such decisions may be made without prior notice to donors.

5. Temporary Suspension of Family-Specific Donation Forms

To ensure responsible use of donations and the safety of beneficiaries, Compassion Is Life may temporarily disable or suspend a donation form associated with a specific child or family if communication with that child or family is lost or significantly disrupted.

Loss of communication may occur due to circumstances beyond the Charity’s control, including but not limited to:

  • relocation due to security threats or military activity
  • lack of internet or mobile connectivity
  • evacuation, injury, or other emergency situations
  • safety concerns that make continued contact inappropriate

When a family-specific donation form is suspended, no further donations to that specific profile can be made until communication is restored or the situation is otherwise resolved.

Suspension of a donation form does not indicate misuse of funds, abandonment of the beneficiary, or termination of support. Previously received donations remain subject to this Agreement and may be allocated or redirected in accordance with these Terms to ensure timely humanitarian assistance.

The Charity reserves the right to reinstate, permanently close, or replace a family-specific donation form at its discretion, based on operational feasibility, safety considerations, and humanitarian need.

6. Updates and Communication

Compassion Is Life is committed to maintaining transparency and accountability in its operations. Accordingly, the Charity endeavors to provide periodic updates to donors, which may include photographs, videos, or written messages demonstrating the impact of contributions.
In furtherance of this goal, the Charity may respectfully request that beneficiaries provide such materials where circumstances allow. However, it is acknowledged that, due to personal, cultural, security-related, or logistical considerations, some recipients may be unable or unwilling to furnish photographs, videos, or messages. The absence of such updates does not reflect a lack of gratitude or benefit received.
Furthermore, given the often unpredictable and challenging conditions in regions affected by the war and humanitarian crises, delays or interruptions in communications may occur. The Charity appreciates the understanding and patience of its supporters in these instances and reaffirms its commitment to sharing meaningful updates whenever reasonably practicable.

7. Fraudulent or Malicious Disputes

We reserve the right to contest disputes or chargebacks submitted under claims such as “product not received” or “product unacceptable,” as charitable donations do not constitute products or services.

8. Data Protection and Privacy

We take the privacy of our donors seriously. Personal information is collected and used in accordance with our Privacy Policy, and includes:
Processing donations securely
Providing updates on sponsored projects
Responding to inquiries and donor requests
We do not sell or rent your personal information to third parties.

9. Donor Responsibilities

As a donor, you agree:
Not to use our services for unlawful purposes
Not to fundraise for other organizations using our platform
To respect the dignity and privacy of sponsored children and families by using any shared photos, videos, or communications solely to support Compassion Is Life’s mission, and not for commercial purposes
You must not share sensitive personal information about sponsored children (such as last names, addresses, or health data) publicly.

10. Intellectual Property

All content on our website (text, images, videos, code) is owned by or licensed to us and is protected by intellectual property laws. You may not reproduce, distribute, or otherwise use this material without our prior written permission.

11. Service Availability

While we make every effort to ensure that our services are operational and available, we are not liable for any downtime, suspension, or discontinuation of services.

12. Amendments to Terms

We reserve the right to update these Terms and Conditions at any time. Material changes will be posted on our website. Your continued use of our services after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

13. Governing Law
